Physical Therapist/Owner
Terry Physical Therapy is locally owned by Onuwa D. Terry, PT, a Virginia native. Mr. Terry obtained his Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore School of Physical Therapy. He has practiced for over nine years in a variety of settings including acute care, outpatient orthopedics, cardiac rehabilitation and geriatric care. He has also served as a volunteer physical therapist at Michochene Hospital
in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Africa. As a physical therapist, Mr. Terry’s goal is to provide optimum care and to educate his patients about their diagnosis and treatment. Mr. Terry incorporates a hands-on approach in his patient care and as a result, he is able to see more effective outcomes then those seen within the practice of single modality use. Mr. Terry is actively involved with the community. He speaks with students at local junior and senior high schools about the career opportunities in physical therapy and the impact physical therapists have on health care today. He also encourages young people to remain focused in order to achieve their personal goals. In addition, Mr. Terry gives back to the community by donating to local charities and organizations. In fact, Mr. Terry’s commitment to the community and sense of professionalism was recognized by readers of The Monitor Newspaper, when they voted Mr. Terry as the “Favorite Physical Therapist” for Hidalgo County in 2002 and 2003. Mr. Terry appreciates the support of his patients who nominated him for this cherished award. Mr. Terry currently holds licenses in Virginia, North Carolina, and Texas.
