Dr Onuwa D. Terry - Physical Therapist PT, DPT
Onuwa D. Terry PT, DPT received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1993. He was conferred as a Doctor of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, Arizona in 2006. He has practiced Physical Therapy for several years in a variety of settings including acute care, out-patient orthopedics, cardiac rehabilitation and geriatric care. He served as a volunteer physical therapist at Michochene Hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Africa providing care to underserved people. His goal is to provide optimal care educating patients and the community regarding the role of physical therapy in today’s changing health care environment. Dr. Terry prides himself in approaching his patients with hands-on care. He stays abreast with trends and changes in the profession by attending American Physical Therapy Association meetings nationwide. Dr. Terry’s outstanding service and commitment to the Mission/McAllen community actually earned him the title of “Favorite Physical Therapist” for Hidalgo County newspaper, The Monitor, for three years. Terry Physical Therapy, established in 1999, is devoted to providing a clean, safe, and comfortable atmosphere for all of the Mission area’s physical therapy needs and is always welcoming new patients.
Dr. Gilberto Deleon - Physical Therapist DPT, ATC
Gilberto Deleon, DPT, ATC attended the University of North Dakota where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. As a part of his Athletic Training internship, Dr. Deleon treated sports-related injuries for many of the university’s sports teams. Upon graduating and relocating to the Rio Grande Valley in 2004, he became the athletic trainer for a local high school. After deciding he wanted to be more involved in patient care, Dr. Deleon began pursuing his doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. In 2009, Dr. Deleon graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and soon after began working for Terry Physical Therapy. Dr. Deleon strives to improve his patients’ quality of life by providing hands-on care and to progress patient to his/her maximum potential.
MARSHA Marsha Terry, MSN, RN, CMOM
Marsha, a Canadian born Registered Nurse with a Master’s of Science (MSN) Degree in Leadership and Management, is the practice administrator. As the practice administrator she oversees the business operations of the clinic, which includes finances, human resources, contract negotiations and connecting our clinic to the community. She has been able to leverage her years of nursing experience and her leadership and management skills with her passion to live her dream and inspire others to do the same. As the very busy wife of Dr. Terry for 14 years and mother of two active boys, ages 13 and 8, Marsha still finds the time to consult and volunteer her time in the community. She provides consulting services for South Texas Advanced Cardiac Care Clinic an outpatient heart failure clinic in McAllen, TX. She is the member of several professional organizations, loves to cook, read and travel. She is extremely passionate about personal growth and development and is currently pursuing certification as a health and wellness coach. Her mantra “Align yourself with your inner truth and become who you are meant to BE” Is demonstrated in her coaching of men and women inspiring them to live beyond their perceived borders.
MIKE Mike Sanchez, PTA
Miguel “Mike” Sanchez graduated from South Texas College Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associates of Applied Science in 2015. Upon graduation he received the Clinical Excellence award. He joined the TPT Family in the same year and has been going strong since. His goal is to help his patients get back to their prior level of function and educating patients because Mike believes the more the patient knows about their injury the less likely they will reinjure or wait to seek help in the future. Mike loves to spend time with his family and is very excited about meeting his baby girl who will be born in August 2017. He also enjoys all different styles of cooking, but if you’ve been here at TPT before you know which one is his preferred method (smoking and grilling). He is a big advocate for living a healthy lifestyle. He demonstrates this by being a regular contributor to the TPT YouTube page with practical tips for pain relief, exercises, and proper body mechanics and aspires to be a motivator for other people to live their best life.
LETTY Letty Rosales, Office Manager
Leticia Rosales “Letty” has had the honor and privilege of working for Terry Physical Therapy for twelve years. She manages the internal operations of the facility. Therefore, not only does she work closely with all departments in the office she works with patients, doctors and insurance companies getting authorization for patients to receive therapy. She is in the office to assist all of the staff and patients with any questions or concerns they might have and troubleshoot problems. On occasion she can be seen out in the community engaging in public relations. She has two children, one boy 5 years old and one girl 10 years old, they currently reside in the city she was born and raised in, Penitas, TX. When away from the office she enjoys the outdoors a great deal so you can find her fishing, hunting, camping or simply spending time on her family ranch with the entire family.
MONICA Monica Sanchez, Billing Manager
Monica was born and raised here in the Rio Grande Valley and currently calls McAllen her home. She began working as a contractor from a billing company. In 2013 she found her permanent home at Terry Physical Therapy and is now the primary biller for the office. She works diligently with insurance companies regarding billing claims and she works closely with patients concerning any payment/billing issues they might have. Her desk is in a back office but her infectious positive attitude is noticeable when you see her all throughout the facility sharing knowledge with various departments. When she is not working she enjoys spending quality time with her new husband Mike Sanchez (the PTA at TPT) and their three children, two girls and one boy with one more baby girl on the way; so you know there is never a dull moment in her house. Family is everything to her and making memories together that they are able to cherish brings her the greatest joy.
